Hey Everyone,

As many of you know I have been working on a Publishing deal that will help get my music out there to more points in Atlanta and the rest of the country. Humility aside, I've already gotten some pretty heavy praise from Harry Warner at BMI thanks to the publishers. He listened to Makin' Love from start to finish and loved it. Both things are rare in his world... Thanks, CL & Bonnie for that feather in our cap!

I also have another cool thing cookin' which I can't talk about in detail yet mostly because I don't want to jinx it. I may have a major investor coming on board to help with the next CD. Praying, praying...

I didn't play in June, but I do have a fun local show July 22. (see below also.) I'll get the gig thing cranked up again after the contests.

I've been really busy teaching this Summer and training for 2 more Bodybuilding contests. See below for info on that. First is the Georgia in Jonesboro and the next is the Gay Games VII. I did consider booking a gig while I was there but I decided against it because of the inevitable crash after a contest. Sleep, hydrate, eat, repeat...

Special thanks go out to:

My Trainer, Dean Felder at Dean Said gym on Ponce. He has been a huge positive influence in my life in so many ways that go beyond the sport. He has also introduced me to folks in the music biz I would not otherwise have met, and they have been so supportive.

To everyone on MySpace and my personal email for all your loving support. I'm livin' the dream right now with both the Bodybuilding thing and my music, and your help has been humbling and highly appreciated. I know how hard everyone works and how busy everyone is so for you to take the time out to write means the world to me.

OK, I think that's it for now. Thanks for reading this far...

Hope to see you at the shows!

BIGLOVE,
Angela.

I'll be competing in the Women's division as a middleweight. Pre-Judging starts at 10am. That's where the judges make most of their decisions about who places and who gets kicked off the island. The evening show starting at 7:35pm is all about the show dogs, and their will be many of us. Great posing routines, great music, great bodies. Fun for the whole family. http://georgiabodybuilding.com

Feature Story

The Middle Child

Here’s some thoughtful commentary on the war in Iraq. Here are two interesting (and educational) points of view from folks who have been there.

First, from WHYY’s “Fresh Air”:

Iraq Inside Out: 'Revolt on the Tigris'

In October 2003, Mark Etherington became governor of the Shiite-majority Wasit Province in Iraq. Six months later, Etherington, isolated from the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad, was forced to flee his headquarters in al-Kut, the province's capital. His new book is Revolt on the Tigris.

Next, New Yorker Journalist George Packer offers a very insightful and non-reactive point of view on a broadcast of The Commonwealth Club. His book is The Assassin’s Gate. Go to Commonweathclub.org and click on Packer, George. The question and answer part at the end of the broadcast is particularly interesting. He still receives email from his friends in Iraq and their point of view is enlightening.
